Oh man, what a thing to go through. That really isn't good parenting, though I hesitate to dis a guy's mom without knowing the whole story. I am glad she's OK, and sorry that you had to worry about her. That sucks, Spys. If you can stay calm, you might want to try to explain to her how much you worry when she does that, especially after drinking. If you show her how it affects you, rather than accusing her of being a bad example, she might understand.
Peace <3

Hi there, Spys
You and your sister are right: you shouldn't have to go through this. And I think Jay's right too, about the way you should talk to your mom about it. I don't know what's going on in her life, but I really hope you can make this situation better.
*hugs*
Mark
Peter... I know how awful that feeling is- to be waiting for a phone call while you're trying to track down a loved one, hoping that your anxiety is misplaced.
It isn't fair... In fact, it's pretty cruel, but such is the distorted thinking of someone who has a drinking problem.
Your mom has obvious problems that she's coping poorly with. She might not think she needs help but if she leaves like that and endangers other people by driving and has you and your family in distress, she REALLY needs to address this, before something tragic happens.
AA would be a great way to start if she will agree to go, and there are support groups for the children as well... I know you probably know all of this, but I'll leave you with a hug and a link, and hope that things get better for you, Peter... I'm sorry, I wish you didn't have to deal with this.... luv, U.T.<3
